Basic Piping for Beginners

When: January 26 & 27, 2018 [Friday & Saturday] 
Time: 9:00am to 3:00pm
Where: Gourmet Bites Kitchen, Suarez Bros. Bldg., Ilustre Street, Davao City [fronting Limso Medical Center]

Workshop Fee: P3,700.00 [for both sessions and includes all ingredients, recipe hand-outs, and certificate] 

This is an individual hands-on Workshop. 

Learning outcomes during the class the students will:

1. Be familiar with types of tools/supplies needed for basic cake decorating and know how to clean and care for them.

2. Make icing/frosting and learn the skills necessary to make the right consistency to use for decorating.

3. Learn how to properly hold and use a pastry bag and how to use each of the piping tips.

4. Understand piping pressure control and learn how to apply it in decorating.

5. Master the basic decorating tips and styles.

6. Learn how to prepare a cake for decorating.

7. Decorate a cake using the knowledge and skills learned:

Terms and Conditions

Gourmet Bites™ is the culinary arts department of St. Dominic Savio Business and Technical College, Inc. which offers cooking and baking workshops. All classes are held at our kitchens located at the 2nd Flr. Door 2 Suarez Bros. Bldg., 112 Ilustre St., Davao City. You are required to arrive 10 minutes prior to your start time.

Uniform & Clothing: You must wear appropriate clothing and closed-toe footwear while attending classes. An apron will be provided to you for every day you are attending a class.

PHOTOGRAPHY: In-class photography by the Gourmet Bites™/SDSBTC staff is the property of Gourmet Bites™/SDSBTC, Inc. and may be used for marketing and promotion of our classes. Photos will be used at our sole discretion. If you wish to opt out from the photos/videos, please inform us and we will respectfully accommodate.

How to Pay:

We have 2 types of payments:

  1. FULL PAYMENT - Here you book and pay the full workshop fee via the payment mode of your choice. Just follow the instructions given at the school or in the online reservation system, make your full payment and your reservation is confirmed. You are assured of a slot in your chosen workshop.

  2. MAKE DOWNPAYMENT - Here you can temporarily reserve a slot by making a downpayment of P1,000.00 (minimum) via the payment mode of your choice. Just follow the instructions given at the school or in the online reservation system, make your down payment and your slot is temporarily reserved.

    The deadline for the remaining balance of the workshop fee shall be paid at least 10 working days (including Saturday) prior to the date of the workshop. Just go to the school and pay your balance in full or log on to your account and go to your “My Orders” page then select the workshop you want to pay in full. Follow the instructions given in the online reservation system, pay your balance in full and your reservation is confirmed. You are assured of a slot in your chosen workshop.

For reservations made 10 days or less prior to workshop, the only payment type available for you is the FULL PAYMENT option in which the following terms will apply:

  • Bookings made 10 to 6 working days prior to date of workshop, FULL PAYMENT shall be made according to the payment mode of your choice (see a. FULL PAYMENT)

  • Bookings made 5 to 1 working day/s prior to date of workshop, you must call 0933-131-0100 or 295-7178 to check the status of the reservation, and if confirmed, you will be required to pay immediately on the same day you make your reservation.

All reservations must be paid in full to confirm your slot in the class. Under no circumstances will students be able to attend a class which has not been paid in full. Your ‘UNPAID’ booking will only be valid as indicated in our payment mode options and will be automatically cancelled if payment is not made or no payment advice is received by the given deadline.

We recommend you immediately ensure your slot by choosing the FULL PAYMENT option. Gourmet Bites™ reserves the right to cancel any ‘UNPAID’ bookings without notice.

Cancellations / Changes of your Reservation (made by the Customer)

Gourmet Bites™ operates on a NO REFUND policy and as such we are unable to refund any payments where you decide to cancel your reservation 10 working days or less prior to the schedule of your class, as a result of any change in personal circumstances, including medical grounds. If you cancel your slot more than 10 working days prior to the day of the class, any payment made will be credited to you via a CREDIT VOUCHER with a 6-month validity that can be used as payment, full or partial where applicable, for any of our other workshops.

Changes to a class 10 working days or less prior to the start of your class will be treated as a cancellation and all payments made will be forfeited. Change of name of participant is allowed where a written authorization is sent/emailed to us prior to the start of the class. You may send your communication to [email protected].

If you wish to change your reservation (more than 10 working days prior notice), you will then need to email or send us a written notice to advise us of your cancellation so that your payment will be credited to your name via a CREDIT VOUCHER with a 6-month validity. Any unused payments will be forfeited after 6 months.

Cancellations / Changes of your Class Schedule (made by the Gourmet Bites™)

Gourmet Bites™ reserves the right to change or cancel a ‘confirmed’ class without notice. While we endeavor to run all classes as scheduled, unforeseen circumstances or insufficient class numbers may lead to a class being cancelled or changed. In the event of a class cancellation or change by Gourmet Bites™, participants who have paid will be issued a CREDIT VOUCHER with a 6-month validity for the value of their reservation, or receive a FULL REFUND whichever is preferred by the customer.

Persons with Disabilities or with Medical Conditions, Pregnant Women

If a participant is pregnant, suspects she is pregnant, or if he/she has an existing/known medical condition, please consult with your physician before making any booking in our workshops. We require participants who are pregnant or with existing medical conditions to submit a medical certificate with the notation "Fit to Participate in a hands-on cooking or baking workshop on (state dates of workshop)", and signed by the participant's medical doctor. The Medical Certificate will be valid only for dates indicated. A waiver will be issued where the participant must sign with the understanding that her/his participation is at her/his own risk and that he/she agrees to release and discharge Gourmet Bites and any of our instructors and staff from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown, arising out of the participant’s negligence.

Non-compliance means Gourmet Bites reserves the right to refuse the participant from joining the workshop with No REFUNDS, therefore all payments made will be forfeited.

In case a participant who is pregnant or has a medical condition fails to advise the school of her /his condition, Gourmet Bites will not be held responsible or liable for any untoward incidents, accidents or injuries arising from the participant's negligence.

Gourmet Bites reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions without prior notice.
